SAT Scores vs. The Music You Listen To – This is interesting, but it thinks I’m not smart enough to listen to The Killers. Are you kidding me? Oops, apparently they can levitate.

Wow, It’s December
Better post apocalyptic hip hop music video…You decide.
50 Cent’s Get Up or 2Pac’s California Love? 50’s rolling with an I Am Legend style, which I love, but nobody does solo black guy in the city better than Will Smith. Pac’s gone Mad Max, specifically Beyond Thunderdome, and has cameos to spare. I’m definitely leaning towards California Love. It’s always been one of my favorite music videos. Either way, Dre wins.
Speaking of the apocalypse, Hulu has added The Last Man on Earth to their growing collection. Combine that with 28 Days Later, Night of the Living Dead, and The Fifth Element, and you’ve got a decent weekend of sci-fi. Perhaps somebody could shine some light (AZIZ!) on the original Planet of the Apes or Waterworld. That’d be awesome. While we’re making suggestions, why isn’t Speed on there?
Also, Empire magazine released their 100 Greatest Movie Characters list. It’s pretty good, but, of course, I disagree with a few of them. Capt. Jack Sparrow? Seriously?

Pants Challenge Response!
Alan and Mo, collectively known as Project Tandem, along with Workshops friend John Barduhn have posted a Pants Challenge Response on Vimeo. I am very impressed. At the end of their video, they call me out to come up with another challenge. Time and time again Alan and Mo have proven that they can bike further, photograph cooler and hold their vodka better. They are very competitive people, and I look forward to further battles.
In very related news, the following commercial was mentioned at work today. I hadn’t seen it until I got home, and I’m blown away. Some of it seems too crazy to believe, and it was certainly down with more production value than the visuals lead one to believe, but I do recognize legit pants talent when I see it.
Unrelated, I’d like to give a big thanks to Ben Smart for forwarding his blog traffic my way. Sweet!
And finally, happy birthday to Virginia! Hopefully the motherland is treating you well.

University of California, Irvine
UCI is probably best known as the second youngest California university and the educational epicenter of Orange County. Others may know it more for having amazing skatespots. It is home to many stylized ledges and park quality handrails with large amounts of run up and pristine concrete. The best example of the skating is in Heath Kirchart’s part from Sight Unseen, seen below.
Also, there are a few shots at UCI from his part in the Emerica video.
Now, what few people know is that UCI was also the main location for Conquest of the Planet of the Apes. The entire opening scene was filmed in the same location as Heath’s skating. That’s pretty cool, but it’s also amazing to think that a college that was only 6 years old at the time of filming allowed the crew to shoot a huge amount of scenes there. Very impressive. I couldn’t find this scene online, but the ledges and handrails are visible in the trailer and a screenshot below.
