County Seat Supply

In the West End of Portland Maine, there is a collaborative shop space known as Merchant Co. This is where you will find the small booth of County Seat Supply. This is the first place in Maine that I have found used Pendleton shirts. That’s a nice vintage Roebucks shirt behind it too!

Is there a better base layer than a natural blond henley? Nope.

Needless to say, I’ll be keeping an eye on the CSS blog and shop space!

Cynthia

I went for a walk to the hardware store yesterday. I didn’t ride my bike because it had just snowed and I was thinking about the ice and salt in the roads. I was curious if other folks had cycled that day, so I took my camera. My first subject was an old Raleigh leaning against Rosemont Market. It wasn’t that different from all the other Raleighs I see around Portland, until the owner came out.

This is Cynthia. She’s in her 80’s, was in the Peace Corps and used to work in Kenya. She was riding her bike that day, which is something she has enjoyed since she was 8. Needless to say, I was impressed and found myself fortunate to bump into her. It’s always good to get a reminder of the importance of enjoying life to it’s very fullest.

Wood

When Ashlinn and I were in New York, we stopped by the Brooklyn Art Library, home of the Sketchbook Project. Not only did we get to see Ashlinn’s sister’s book, but I also picked up this gem of a postcard from my hometown. Pile of wood.

I just got to my parents house last night and found out my dad is building a shanty town in his garage. I’m not sure if he plans on living in there, but at least it’s well ventilated.
